Cloud Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves supporting and scaling modern cloud-based data environments, specifically focusing on onboarding application teams to Databricks and building Data Landing Zones (DLZ). The position is fully remote and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud operations.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Databricks in a technical or operational setting.
• 1–3 years of experience with Azure Data Factory.
• Previous experience in application support or cloud support roles.
• Familiarity with major cloud platforms, particularly Azure, with exposure to AWS or GCP as a plus.
• Experience with source-control systems like Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
• Understanding of Databricks features such as Unity Catalog and role-based access control (RBAC).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support to application teams via ServiceNow, addressing Databricks and cloud-related requests.
• Analyze technical requirements for onboarding new DLZs.
• Execute automated processes to manage Azure and Databricks resources.
• Support deployment of Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Identify and automate repetitive tasks to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with various teams to resolve technical issues and improve onboarding processes.
• Maintain and enhance documentation for support procedures and workflows.

Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Tools
