Clinical Operations Data Analyst

Job summary

This role involves supporting a clinical data platform to derive insights throughout the clinical trial lifecycle. The Data Analyst will collaborate with product owners and data engineers to validate data outputs, identify gaps, and develop meaningful insights from complex clinical datasets.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in data analysis within pharma, biotech, or clinical research.
• Hands-on experience with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS).
• Familiarity with external clinical datasets and clinical trial inclusion/exclusion criteria.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial terminology and data structures.
• Proficiency in SQL and Databricks; experience with Python is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Validate data outputs and logic within the clinical data platform, identifying gaps, errors, and data loss in large datasets.
• Assess data quality and completeness from clinical data sources, including CTMS platforms.
• Analyze various analytical approaches and provide recommendations on their advantages and disadvantages.
• Independently evaluate solutions during exploration phases and share insights with the team.
• Clearly communicate findings through written reports, Excel, and PowerPoint presentations.

Skills

• Critical thinking and the ability to assess data validity.
• Understanding of the limitations of clinical datasets and strategies to navigate them.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration, including in meetings with remote participants.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks independently.

Education

• Relevant degree in a related field is preferred but not specified.

Tools

• SQL, Databricks, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with Python is advantageous.
