About the role

Job summary

The role involves coordinating and managing civil design and construction activities for new investment projects, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and adherence to project specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  • Preferred Master’s degree in civil engineering and/or project management
  • 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying and budgeting for construction projects
  • Industrial or international project experience is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Prince 2 methodology is a plus
  • Proficient in written and spoken English at a professional level
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Support design and construction management activities
  • Oversee project scope related to quality, budget, schedule, certification, approvals, and health & safety checks
  • Manage Bill of Quantities and unit prices for construction projects
  • Ensure efficient budget follow-up for design and construction activities
  • Review technical aspects of change orders and report discrepancies to the Civil Project Manager
  • Assist in preparing design specifications and tender documents
  • Support documentation from design input to contractor handover
  • Maintain clear communication with the core team and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20-30 days per year
  • Proactive approach to all responsibilities

Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking and solid construction experience
  • Excellent data management skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent required; Master’s preferred

Tools

  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies, particularly Prince 2
