Job summary

This role involves contributing to project-based AI opportunities focused on testing and improving AI systems through the design of computational chemistry problems. Contributors will engage in tasks that require both chemistry expertise and Python programming skills.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
  • Experience with numerical methods in chemistry.
  • Understanding of computational chemistry concepts and methods.
  • Strong written English skills (C1+).

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week during active project phases, based on specific project needs.

Compensation

Contributors can earn up to $45 per hour, depending on their expertise and contribution pace. Compensation may vary across different projects based on their scope and complexity.

  • Design computational chemistry problems that mimic real research workflows.
  • Create Python-based problems requiring computational solutions.
  • Ensure problems are complex and cannot be solved manually in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Develop problems that involve advanced reasoning in physical chemistry, quantum chemistry, and molecular modeling.
  • Base problems on real-world research challenges or practical chemistry applications.
  • Verify solutions using Python and standard computational chemistry techniques.
  • Clearly document problem statements and provide verified answers.
