Job summary

The Change Manager is responsible for managing change, variation, and claims within a structured governance model. This role involves coordinating various assessments and ensuring compliance with contract management processes.

Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in change control, claims analysis, and baseline management on complex projects.
  • Strong background in claims, change-control, and commercial management within rail, infrastructure, systems, or construction sectors.
  • Competence in delay/disruption narratives, pricing logic, and negotiation preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage variation/change and claims registers, ensuring ownership and deadlines are assigned.
  • Coordinate impact assessments across technical, schedule, cost, risk, and procurement disciplines.
  • Prepare change submissions and negotiation briefs in collaboration with legal and contract management teams.
  • Ensure approved changes are accurately reflected in project documentation and schedules.
  • Track customer instructions and design changes for timely recovery actions.
  • Support dispute mitigation and maintain traceability of changes.

Skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong assertiveness and ethical commercial conduct.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage high-value negotiations.

Education

  • Relevant qualifications in project management or related fields are preferred.

Tools

  • Familiarity with project management software and change management tools.
