Category Manager (On-site)

Job summary

This role involves managing the procurement of packing equipment for a global manufacturing environment, covering a 12-month parental leave. The position is focused on developing and executing a global category sourcing plan while ensuring strong supplier relationships and compliance with governance standards.

Qualifications

• Education in Engineering or a business-related field.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or supplier relationship management in an international context.
• Strong background in technical categories, particularly CAPEX and manufacturing equipment.
• Experience managing significant spend, ideally over 200 mDKK.
• Proven contract management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and manage complex supplier negotiations.
• Understanding of manufacturing equipment systems and engineering processes.
• Willingness to travel approximately 15–20 days per year.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Global Category Sourcing Plan, managing global supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with stakeholders in Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Conduct market benchmarking and maintain insights to stay competitive.
• Manage the contract process as the primary contact for procurement, legal, and finance.
• Oversee supplier management and conduct commercial negotiations.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards and conduct performance reviews with suppliers.
