About the role

Job summary

This role involves leading the development and execution of global commodity strategies for cranes and heavy lift services, focusing on both onshore and offshore wind projects. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive supplier performance and create value across the supply chain.

Qualifications

  • Over 7 years of experience in global procurement, category management, or commodity management, preferably in international settings.
  • Strong background in offshore wind, heavy lifting, crane operations, or large infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience in managing procurement activities for cranes and heavy lift services.
  • Technical knowledge of crane types and lifting methodologies in both onshore and offshore environments.
  • Established network within the industry, particularly with crane rental and heavy lift contractors.
  • Strong negotiation skills for complex service agreements and project contracts.
  • Leadership and stakeholder management experience across diverse teams, supported by a relevant master's degree.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute commodity strategies for cranes and heavy lift services.
  • Maintain market intelligence on global crane suppliers, including capacity and pricing dynamics.
  • Oversee sourcing, contracting, and cost-reduction initiatives for various crane types and heavy lift services.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to evaluate lifting concepts and supplier proposals.
  • Ensure a sustainable and high-performing supply base through effective commodity strategy execution.
  • Drive supplier relationship management to unlock value and foster innovation.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align strategies and execution.

Skills

  • Strong commercial and technical expertise in crane operations and heavy lift planning.
  • Ability to assess supplier capabilities and execution risks for complex projects.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on collaboration and alignment in matrix organizations.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills, with a results-oriented mindset.

Education

  • Relevant master's degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, or Finance.

Tools

  • Familiarity with procurement and project management tools relevant to the industry.
