Bot Developer (Remote)

Job summary

A freelance opportunity for a Bot Developer to design and build conversational bots and messaging-platform integrations for various applications. This role involves working with messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord to create reliable and user-friendly bots.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in backend, integration, automation, or bot development.
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop bots for messaging platforms including WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord.
• Design conversational flows and handle dialogue states and fallback scenarios.
• Integrate bots with large language models for natural language processing.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, and third-party APIs.
• Manage webhooks and platform-specific message formats.
• Review and optimize bot implementations for reliability and performance.
• Implement logging and monitoring to ensure bot health in production.

Skills

• At least 1 year of experience building bots for major messaging platforms.
• Proficiency in Python or Node.js for backend development.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and database management.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs and prompt design is a plus.
• Understanding of platform-specific limits and message templates.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Education

• Portfolio of previous bot projects is required.
• English proficiency at an upper-intermediate level (B2) or above is necessary.

Tools

• Experience with hosting and deployment tools such as Docker or serverless platforms is beneficial.
