Biology & Python Expert (Remote)

Job summary

This role involves contributing to project-based AI opportunities focused on testing and improving AI systems in the field of biology. Contributors will design computational biology problems and create Python programming tasks that simulate real research workflows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biology or related fields.
• Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is acceptable.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied, research, or teaching roles.
• Experience in biological data analysis and algorithms.
• Knowledge of bioinformatics tools and computational methods.
• Strong written English skills (C1+).

Responsibilities

Project time expectations

Tasks are estimated to require around 10–20 hours per week during active phases, depending on project requirements.

Compensation

Contributors can earn up to $45 per hour, with compensation varying based on project scope and complexity.

• Design original computational biology problems that reflect real research workflows.
• Create Python-based problems requiring computational solutions.
• Ensure problems are complex and cannot be solved manually in a reasonable timeframe.
• Develop problems that involve non-trivial reasoning in bioinformatics and molecular modeling.
• Base problems on actual research challenges or practical applications.
• Verify solutions using Python and standard computational biology libraries.
• Document problem statements and provide verified correct answers.
