Appointed Person (Offshore Lifting Operations, Blyth)

Job summary

This role involves acting as the Appointed Person for lifting operations in offshore settings, ensuring compliance with legislation and providing expertise on complex lifts.

Qualifications

• Qualified Appointed Person with IOSH Leading Safely or NEBOSH certification, CPCS Blue Card (AP), and Level 5 NVQ in Lifting.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards for lifting duties.
• Proven experience in managing Safe Systems of Work for lifting operations.
• Competent in producing lifting documentation, including risk assessments and rigging calculations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and 2D/3D drawing for rigging and lift plans.
• Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Office and AX systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the nominated Appointed Person for lifting operations, ensuring adherence to local laws and standards.
• Develop and manage the Safe System of Work for lifting operations, updating as necessary.
• Prepare project-specific lifting plans and rigging drawings, overseeing all lifting activities.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and internal quality standards during lifting operations.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to facilitate safe execution of lifts.
• Represent the organization in meetings related to lifting activities and resolve issues proactively.
• Assess personnel competencies and provide necessary training for lifting operations.
