Job summary

The Manufacturing Manager for Mammalian Downstream is responsible for overseeing a key production area, ensuring stable, compliant, and efficient manufacturing performance. This role requires a leader who can connect shift-based operations with business priorities and support functions while driving continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in biologics API or GMP-regulated manufacturing.
  • Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in managing leaders.
  • Strong technical understanding of Upstream, Downstream, or Solution Preparation processes.
  • Solid knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of four Shift Supervisors to ensure seamless production across shifts, focusing on safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Monitor and improve output, quality, and compliance in the production area.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure production readiness and resolve issues.
  • Represent the production area during audits, inspections, and client visits.
  • Handle complex people and performance matters, including performance reviews and workforce planning.
