Job summary

The Manufacturing Manager for Mammalian Downstream will oversee a critical production area, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality manufacturing performance. This role involves connecting daily operations with broader business objectives and leading a team of Shift Supervisors to maintain seamless production across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in biologics API or GMP-regulated manufacturing.
• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of Upstream, Downstream, or Solution Preparation processes.
• Knowledge of GMP, quality systems, and production operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Shift Supervisors, ensuring effective first-line leadership.
• Set clear performance expectations and foster a culture of accountability and engagement.
• Monitor and improve production output, quality, and compliance continuously.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure production readiness and resolve issues.
• Represent the production area during audits, inspections, and client visits.
• Handle deviation management, investigations, and root cause analysis.
• Identify systemic issues and implement sustainable solutions for performance improvement.
