System Architect

Job summary

Seeking an experienced System Architect for a 3-month contract role focused on designing and managing the architecture of complex systems to fulfill business needs while ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a System Architect, ideally in the banking or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of core banking systems and their architecture.
• Familiarity with integration architectures, particularly message queuing technologies like IBM MQ and Kafka.
• Knowledge of IBM Mainframe environments and transition strategies to midrange platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with the Temenos T24/Transact platform is advantageous.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience in Agile teams.
• Capability to define and manage non-functional requirements and conduct root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and document system architecture designs that align with business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, product managers, and operations teams, to ensure a unified vision and execution.
• Support core banking technology transformation initiatives, ensuring robust and compliant architectures.
• Provide coaching and guidance on key architectural principles, non-functional requirements, and best practices.
• Contribute to architectural documentation such as System Design Documents (SDD) and Test Readiness Review Documents (TRRD).
• Assess and recommend improvements in IT infrastructure and platform capabilities.
