Sustainability Manager (Nordic)

Job summary

The role of Sustainability Manager Nordic involves leading and enhancing sustainability initiatives within the building industry, specifically focusing on the green transition of products and practices. This position requires active participation in sustainability discussions and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote sustainable practices across the Nordic region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a sustainability role, preferably in the building materials sector or as an auditor in a consulting engineering firm.
• Background in architecture, engineering, or building construction, with certifications in sustainability auditing.
• Fluent in English and at least one other Nordic language.

Responsibilities

• Develop and promote content related to sustainability initiatives to raise awareness in the Nordic region.
• Engage in sustainability debates and drive recycling and reuse initiatives.
• Collaborate with sales teams and customers to align on sustainability topics.
• Educate the commercial team and key customers on certification schemes.
• Ensure compliance with Nordic regulations and develop necessary product documentation.
• Monitor competitor sustainability initiatives and market trends.
• Create and maintain a regional sustainability strategy aligned with global goals.

Skills

• Strong communication and project leadership skills.
• Proactive in staying updated with industry developments.
• Hands-on experience with sustainability certifications relevant to the Nordic building sector (e.g., DGNB, BREEAM-NOR, Miljöbyggnad, LEED).

Education
