LCA Specialist / Product Sustainability Engineer

Job summary

An experienced Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Specialist is sought to lead sustainability initiatives within a global company focused on resource efficiency and environmental responsibility. This role involves evaluating the environmental impacts of products throughout their life cycle and translating insights into actionable strategies that enhance sustainability and business value.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in developing Life Cycle Assessments, preferably using SimaPro.
• Background in fluid handling, heat transfer, process industries, or related sectors is highly valued.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to influence business decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in presenting technical and sustainability topics to diverse audiences.
• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Proven track record of delivering LCAs and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
• Experience mentoring colleagues or leading cross-functional initiatives is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex LCA projects across multiple product areas.
• Develop and implement sustainability strategies aligned with business priorities.
• Translate LCA insights into actionable recommendations for product development and operations.
• Collaborate with R&D, marketing, sourcing, and manufacturing teams.
• Communicate environmental impact data and sustainability initiatives clearly and confidently.
• Support customer discussions and contribute to sustainability-related business opportunities.
• Represent the company in industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings.
• Mentor and support junior LCA practitioners and help build internal capability.
• Contribute to the continuous development of sustainability methodologies and tools.

Skills

• Proficiency in LCA software such as SimaPro.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence decisions.

Education

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.

Tools

• Experience with LCA software, particularly SimaPro.
