Job summary

This part-time position involves supporting the Core Workshop at the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, focusing on advanced fabrication and prototyping for research and student projects.

Responsibilities

  • Operate FDM, resin (SLA/DLP), and SLS 3D printers to produce specialized parts for students and faculty.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies such as filaments and resins.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot workshop machinery to ensure safe operations.
  • Assist and supervise students in using workshop equipment.
  • Organize and prepare the workshop environment for various projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) for part design.
  • Knowledge of 3D printing processes and slicing software.
  • Practical experience in a workshop or fabrication setting is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of design-for-manufacturing principles and material properties for additive manufacturing.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented attitude.

Education

  • Must be enrolled as a student at the University of Southern Denmark.

Tools

  • 3D printers (FDM, SLA/DLP, SLS), CAD software, workshop machinery.
