Student Software Engineer (Java Development)

Job summary

This position involves contributing to the development of an e-commerce platform and supporting Java developers across agile teams. The role offers a unique opportunity to build technical competencies while participating in a significant IT initiative focused on headless, event-driven, and microservice architecture.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with plans to continue into a Master's degree.
• Hands-on experience with software development through university, personal, or hobby projects.
• Passion for software engineering and building tools that address real problems.
• Strong focus on writing clean, secure code and ensuring quality and consistency.
• Familiarity with Test-Driven Development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Java developers with cross-cutting tooling, standards, and best practices.
• Explore and implement AI tools to enhance engineering productivity and code quality.
• Take ownership of smaller applications and shared libraries used across the organization.
• Work with modern technologies and frameworks, including Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes/Docker.
