Job summary

This position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in financial planning, forecasting, and analytics within an international commercial finance team in the biotech sector. The role involves supporting various finance activities across multiple geographies, enhancing analytical skills, and understanding how finance collaborates with commercial and operational teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an academic program, preferably starting a Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or financial planning tools is beneficial.
  • Strong Excel skills and interest in financial models and datasets.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Comfortable meeting recurring monthly and quarterly deadlines.
  • Motivated to learn and develop finance and analytical skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a desire to improve processes.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • 50%: Support the quarterly Latest Estimate (LE) process, including financial model preparation, consolidation of inputs, and presentations.
  • Assist with price, volume, variance, and inventory analysis.
  • Support OPEX planning by updating forecast models and preparing follow-up materials.
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment in Finance, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Trade Operations during reporting and forecasting cycles.
  • 30%: Aid in system uploads and data checks, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Update recurring monthly reporting files and templates, and improve existing templates and reports.
  • Support automation and efficiency initiatives using Excel, Power BI, and other tools.
  • 20%: Assist with monthly financial controlling activities, including project cost and purchase order reviews, and tracking of accruals.
  • Support follow-up with budget and project owners, and prepare monthly and quarterly P&L estimates.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

  • Enrollment in a relevant academic program, preferably at the Master’s level.
