Director of Accounting (Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves leading the accounting function at a site in Copenhagen, ensuring financial reporting integrity and compliance with IFRS and local regulations. The Director will oversee a skilled accounting team and may extend responsibilities to transactional services such as payroll and accounts payable/receivable.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of accounting experience, preferably in a large publicly listed company.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in IFRS (especially IFRS 15) and Danish tax regulations.
• Relevant degree in Accounting (Bachelor's or Master's) and professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, MAcc).
• Experience with ERP systems and knowledge of ERP implementation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with financial and tax standards.
• Serve as the main contact for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and efficient compliance.
• Provide technical guidance on local accounting matters and oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for accounting operations.
• Mentor and develop the local accounting team, fostering a culture of high performance.
• Collaborate with local and global finance teams on financial closing, consolidation, and compliance initiatives.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
