Strategic Purchaser (Procurement, EMEA, Remote)

Job summary

This position is focused on managing the procurement of complex purchase orders and providing support to junior team members within the EMEA region. The role involves overseeing the purchasing backlog and facilitating escalation processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, ideally in a service or aftermarket context.
• Strong grasp of procurement processes and supplier relationship management.
• Ability to manage complex order flows with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive mindset with strong organizational abilities.
• Analytical skills for data interpretation and decision support.
• Experience in international or matrix organizations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP is a plus.
• Fluency in English; additional languages are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute service and aftermarket purchase orders, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
• Serve as a primary contact for procurement issues, driving resolutions.
• Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues to enhance team performance.
• Monitor and prioritize the purchasing backlog, addressing risks proactively.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to resolve supply chain challenges.
• Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and order execution.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within procurement.
• Engage in Supplier Relationship Management activities, including performance reviews.
• Support procurement KPI reporting and tracking for transparency.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in procurement or supply chain management.

Tools

• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement tools is preferred.
