Software Systems Engineer

Job summary

This role focuses on enhancing the integration of software and hardware to improve customer experiences in the dental industry. The position involves establishing system-level testing capabilities and engaging deeply with software development processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
• Professional experience in systems engineering, software quality assurance, or integration testing, preferably in the medical device sector
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 standards
• Understanding of software development processes and methodologies
• Experience in system-level or integration testing in a hardware/software environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to create actionable documentation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration across engineering teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance system-level software/hardware integration capabilities
• Validate the complete customer flow, including hardware, software, and clinical workflows
• Create and maintain a system-level release testing process within the software release cycle
• Ensure ongoing validation of hardware/software integration beyond component-level testing
• Identify gaps in end-to-end test coverage, focusing on real customer workflows
• Define acceptance criteria for early validation to minimize defect detection delays
• Promote a comprehensive system perspective in software development activities
• Lead the establishment of a scalable System Test Lab to enhance organizational capabilities

Education

• Relevant degree in a technical discipline as mentioned in qualifications

Tools

• Familiarity with software development and testing tools relevant to systems engineering and integration testing
