Senior Process Engineer

Job summary

The role involves developing and refining glass and fiber-optic assembly processes for new products, from initial concepts to production handoff. The engineer will work directly with advanced fiber and glass processing equipment and will be responsible for building and testing fiber-optic assemblies.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in process or product development in photonics, optics, or a related field.
• Strong background in optical fiber manufacturing or processing; experience with specialty fibers is advantageous.
• Familiarity with optical packaging and precision assembly processes in controlled environments.
• Solid understanding of photonics and laser systems, including testing fiber-optic assemblies.
• Educational background in materials science, physics, or a related discipline relevant to optical fiber and glass materials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature assembly processes for new products.
• Operate high-end fiber and glass processing equipment, tuning and advancing processes.
• Design and analyze experiments to establish process windows and tolerances.
• Maintain clear process documentation for optimization and production transfer.
• Troubleshoot complex process issues and implement improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure production readiness.
