Senior Process Engineer

Job summary

The role involves developing and refining glass and fiber-optic assembly processes for new products, from initial concepts through to production handoff. The engineer will work directly with advanced fiber and glass processing equipment, conduct experiments, and maintain process documentation to ensure optimization and repeatability.

Qualifications

• Over 5 years of experience in process or product development in photonics, optics, or a related field.
• Strong background in optical fiber manufacturing; experience with specialty fibers is advantageous.
• Familiarity with optical packaging and precision assembly in controlled environments.
• Knowledge of photonics and laser systems, particularly in testing fiber-optic assemblies.
• Educational background in materials science, physics, or a related discipline relevant to optical materials.
• Methodical approach to experimentation and data analysis.
• High attention to detail with a focus on quality and manufacturability.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature assembly processes for new products.
• Operate high-end fiber and glass processing equipment and advance these processes.
• Build and test fiber-optic assemblies using proprietary technology.
• Design and analyze experiments to establish process tolerances.
• Maintain clear documentation for process optimization and production transfer.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and implement improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure production readiness.
