About the role

Job summary

This role involves shaping modern, scalable systems as a Senior Principal Developer, focusing on the core of post-trading systems. You will have a significant impact on reliability, performance, and architecture while collaborating with teams across locations.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of building and evolving critical systems while contributing to architectural direction.
  • Develop scalable, high-performance solutions using C#/.NET and .NET Core.
  • Design and maintain RESTful and gRPC APIs with business-aligned contracts.
  • Work within event-driven and service-oriented architectures in a distributed environment.
  • Optimize SQL Server databases, including performance-critical components.
  • Modernize legacy systems towards loosely coupled architectures.
  • Ensure reliability, correctness, observability, and performance in revenue-critical systems.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and engineering standards.
  • Facilitate entity-based communication using Kafka.
  • Manage production systems, including monitoring and incident follow-up.

Qualifications

  • 10–12 years of experience in software engineering.
  • Deep expertise in C#/.NET and SQL programming.
  • Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Kafka or similar event streaming technologies is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive, comfortable near production systems.
  • Enjoy mentoring and influencing technical direction.
  • Adaptable and motivated to improve systems and processes.

Education

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
