Senior Portfolio Manager (Engineering, Hybrid)

Job summary

In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic oversight and governance for a global engineering portfolio, ensuring that key investments are prioritized and managed effectively to deliver value across the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in managing or supporting large-scale project portfolios within engineering or technical environments.
• Proven track record in portfolio governance and reporting.
• Strong partnership experience with Finance for investment planning and performance tracking.
• Hands-on experience with portfolio/project management systems (PPMS, PPM tools, etc.).
• Ability to build trusted relationships in a global, matrixed organization.
• Strong analytical skills for translating complex data into actionable insights.
• Highly structured and meticulous with critical data handling.
• Authorization to work in the country of employment; limited international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio governance and reporting, delivering insights on progress, risks, capacity, and financial performance.
• Drive portfolio planning and prioritization to align initiatives with strategic objectives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Digital Product Managers, and LEAN teams for annual planning and performance tracking.
• Act as a trusted advisor to project and program leaders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
• Contribute to the implementation of the Strategic Portfolio Management System, shaping governance frameworks and reporting standards.
• Support partners in adopting the Strategic Portfolio Management System through training and collaboration.
• Work with PMO peers to ensure consistent standards and reporting across engineering and operations.
• Drive initiatives to enhance portfolio practices and decision-making within the PMO function.

Skills

• Familiarity with LEAN or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
• Strong facilitation, training, or change management skills are advantageous.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Experience with portfolio/project management systems (PPMS, PPM tools, or similar) is essential.
