Senior Network Engineer (Copenhagen)

Job summary

We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer with extensive experience in data-center networking and routing to enhance our Operations team. This role focuses on managing the network infrastructure that supports our backup systems, ensuring reliable and secure data flow across various networks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in Network Engineering, Network Reliability, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and VXLAN/EVPN.
• Solid understanding of Linux networking fundamentals, including kernel network stack and iptables/nftables.
• Experience with load balancing and reverse proxies like Nginx or HAProxy.
• Proactive approach to identifying potential issues before they escalate.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical decisions to non-technical team members.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the network architecture, including data-center fabric and routing.
• Design and manage load balancing and traffic management for large-scale data operations.
• Establish and uphold network reliability standards and change-management practices.
• Implement network automation and observability, treating the network as code.
• Manage VPN connectivity for remote management purposes.
• Collaborate with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues.
• Advocate for automation in network processes.

Skills

• Network automation experience with tools like Ansible or Terraform is a plus.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes networking and observability tools.
• Background in DDoS mitigation and network security is advantageous.
• Experience managing networks across multiple data centers or hybrid cloud setups is beneficial.

Education

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Familiarity with network observability tools such as sFlow/NetFlow and eBPF-based tooling.
