Job summary

The role involves supporting a global fleet of container vessels, focusing on decarbonisation and innovative vessel design. The position is part of a team that spans the full vessel lifecycle, from concept design to recycling.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Naval Architecture with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ship design or maritime research.
  • Experience in container vessel design, including statutory compliance and structural design.
  • Strong technical foundation with experience in engineering projects from concept to execution.
  • Collaborative mindset with an interest in working in a global, cross-functional environment.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance the design and performance of the container vessel fleet.
  • Lead engineering projects ensuring timely delivery and high technical standards.
  • Provide technical input and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Engage in both strategic initiatives and technical projects.
  • Collaborate with engineers, shipyards, and external partners.
  • Foster a proactive culture with shared ownership among team members.

Skills

  • Familiarity with container lashing systems is advantageous.
  • Exposure to classification societies or maritime regulatory environments is a plus.
  • Experience in mentoring or coordinating the work of other engineers is beneficial.

Education

  • Degree in Naval Architecture.

Tools

  • Engineering design software relevant to naval architecture and ship design.
