Senior Naval Architect

Job summary

The role involves supporting a global fleet of over 300 container vessels, focusing on decarbonization and innovative vessel design. The position is based in Copenhagen and requires collaboration with project managers and engineers across various disciplines.

Qualifications

• Degree in Naval Architecture with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in ship design or maritime research.
• Familiarity with vessel design, statutory compliance, structural design, or stability.
• Solid technical foundation with experience in engineering projects from concept to execution.
• Experience in ship newbuilding or major conversion projects from the perspectives of ship owners, designers, or classification societies.
• Proactive mindset and ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the design and performance of the container vessel fleet.
• Lead and deliver engineering projects on schedule and to high technical standards.
• Serve as a technical authority and subject matter expert.
• Conduct technical evaluations and design reviews with various stakeholders.
• Provide engineering recommendations to support decision-making.
• Engage in both strategic initiatives and fast-paced technical projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, site offices, shipyards, and external partners.
• Foster a proactive culture with shared ownership.

Skills

• Knowledge of container vessel lashing systems, outfitting, hull structure, and accommodation design is advantageous.
• Experience in mentoring or coordinating the work of other engineers is a plus.

Education

• Degree in Naval Architecture.

Tools

• Familiarity with engineering design tools and software relevant to naval architecture.
