Senior Mechanical Engineer (High-Tech, Remote)

Job summary

The role involves technical ownership of mechanical design for laser products and subsystems, with responsibilities spanning the entire product lifecycle from concept to manufacturing. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop robust opto-mechanical solutions.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Over 5 years of experience in pressure mechanics or industrial high-tech equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical development of laser products throughout the product lifecycle.
• Collaborate with mechanical, optical, and electronics engineers on concept development and prototyping.
• Manage defined work packages within product development projects, ensuring timely execution and delivery.
• Design precision mechanical and opto-mechanical components, including 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
• Support prototype assembly, functional testing, and product qualification.
• Ensure product compliance with relevant standards and contribute to manufacturing release.
• Work with suppliers to identify cost-effective manufacturing solutions for parts and subassemblies.

Skills

• Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks.
• Experience with opto-mechanical systems or laser products is a plus.
• Competence in design for reliability and manufacturability.
• Knowledge of mechanical design standards for CNC machined and sheet metal parts.
• Practical experience with 3D printing and mechanical workshop tools.
• Familiarity with PLM/Vault systems and standard Microsoft tools.
• Expertise in finite element analysis and thermal flow simulations.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
