Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job summary

The role involves technical ownership of mechanical design for laser products and related subsystems, covering the entire lifecycle from concept to manufacturing release. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop robust opto-mechanical solutions.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Over 5 years of experience with precision mechanics or industrial high-tech equipment

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical development of laser products throughout their lifecycle
• Collaborate with engineers on concept development, prototyping, and design maturation
• Manage defined work packages within product development projects
• Design precision mechanical and opto-mechanical components, including 3D models and 2D drawings
• Support prototype assembly, functional testing, and product qualification
• Ensure product compliance and certification to relevant standards
• Work with suppliers to identify cost-effective manufacturing solutions

Skills

• Strong 3D CAD skills, preferably in SolidWorks
• Experience with opto-mechanical systems or laser products is advantageous
• Competence in design for reliability and manufacturability
• Knowledge of mechanical design standards for CNC machined and sheet metal parts
• Familiarity with 3D printing and mechanical workshop tools
• Proficiency in PLM/Vault systems and Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook)
• Expertise in finite element analysis and thermal flow simulations
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
