About the role

Job summary

The Senior Manager of External Warehousing & Logistics is responsible for developing and implementing a global strategy for external warehousing across Europe and the Rest of World. This role involves overseeing external partners to ensure compliant and efficient operations that support a growing product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the global external warehousing strategy, focusing on scalability, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Serve as the main contact for external warehousing partners and logistics suppliers, managing relationships and ensuring alignment.
  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics flows across global warehouse providers for efficiency.
  • Lead the implementation and validation processes at external partners, including contract negotiations and service level agreements.
  • Manage supplier performance, including monitoring KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Control the warehousing budget, ensuring cost management and alignment with financial goals.
  • Ensure accurate inventory management, including reconciliation and compliance with financial standards.
  • Maintain adherence to SOX and GxP requirements in inventory and warehousing processes.
  • Collaborate with external partners on process improvements and digitalization efforts to enhance service quality.
  • Work with Quality Assurance to ensure GxP compliance across the warehousing network.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align operations and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Manage logistics-related systems, ensuring optimal performance and necessary enhancements.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Over 8 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical sector, particularly in external warehousing and logistics.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing supply chain strategies at a regional or global level.
  • Expertise in inventory management, financial processes, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in supplier and contract management, including negotiation skills.
  • Strong budget management and cost optimization experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing across various functions.
  • Experience in a global, matrix organization.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on driving change and continuous improvement.
