Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will collaborate with customers and internal teams to design, build, and implement AI-driven solutions that integrate with customer systems and workflows. You will be responsible for transforming complex requirements into production-ready implementations, ensuring high reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in shipping production software (backend and/or full-stack) and managing it in production.
• Strong understanding of integration and systems thinking, including APIs, event-driven systems, and data modeling.
• Experience with applied AI/LLM beyond prototypes, including prompt design and reliability practices.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver solutions with minimal guidance.
• Excellent written communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Practicals

• Collaborate with customers to identify operational challenges and define success criteria.
• Develop clear technical designs and implementation plans based on open-ended problems.
• Create AI-enabled solutions that integrate with customer systems and Remote’s platform.
• Manage deployments, ensuring reliability, performance, and observability.
• Establish metrics and evaluation methods for AI behavior and iterate based on real data.
• Work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Transform one-off solutions into repeatable processes and internal tools.
• Gather customer feedback to inform product strategy.
• Team: Remote Build / Customer Engineering.
• Work setup: Fully remote with some travel (approximately 10%) for customer engagements.
• Start date: As soon as possible.
