Senior Engineering Manager (Data & AI Products, Remote)

Job summary

This role involves leading and developing multidisciplinary teams focused on Data & AI Products and Data Serving. The Senior Engineering Manager will oversee the delivery of AI features and the underlying data infrastructure, ensuring high quality and reliability in production environments.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams that build AI-powered or data-intensive products.
• Technical expertise in areas such as AI product engineering, real-time data APIs, or machine learning systems.
• Experience in hiring, developing, and retaining senior technical talent.
• Strong product and business acumen to collaborate effectively with product managers and designers.
• Ability to manage distinct teams with varying mandates and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead teams of Applied AI Engineers, Data Scientists, ML Scientists, Backend Engineers, and Data Engineers.
• Own the delivery of AI features and the API serving layer.
• Collaborate with product teams to define the AI feature roadmap.
• Implement quality standards and responsible AI practices across AI feature development.
• Ensure the data serving layer meets reliability and latency requirements.
• Manage hiring and resourcing during team growth.
• Represent teams in leadership discussions and translate technical progress into actionable decisions.

Skills

• Strong understanding of both product engineering and data domains.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and drive clarity in delivery.
• Familiarity with technologies such as AWS, Kotlin, Python, and Kubernetes.

Education

• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

Tools

• Experience with AWS, Kotlin, Python, Kubernetes, and various AI/ML tools.
