Senior Energy Market Specialist (Consultancy, Copenhagen/Stockholm)

Job summary

This role involves working with energy markets and system modelling, focusing on developing sustainable energy solutions in response to growing consultancy demands. The position requires expertise in analysing and modelling global energy commodity markets and European electricity markets, particularly in the context of increasing renewable energy integration.

Qualifications

• Academic background in economics or engineering
• 5-10 years of experience in electricity and energy markets modelling and analysis, preferably in consultancy
• Experience in using and developing electricity market models
• Knowledge of energy system analysis and energy planning
• Proficiency in Operations Research related to energy system modelling
• Extensive programming skills in Python
• Familiarity with technologies in energy systems and data processing

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of hybrid and electricity market models
• Collaborate on the European electricity market model with the team
• Conduct electricity spot and ancillary service market studies for clients
• Analyse global energy commodity markets and their impact on European markets
• Support feasibility studies and business development efforts
• Work with various business units to integrate modelling solutions into projects
• Manage small to medium-sized projects and develop technical presentations for clients
