About the role

Job summary

The role involves working within a large Process Automation team focused on delivering automation solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. The position is project-based, dealing with the design, development, and implementation of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for various production processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, automation, process, or marine engineering.
  • At least 4 years of experience in PCS/DCS application development, particularly in a GMP/GAMP environment.
  • Familiarity with batch production processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on application process solutions.
  • Design, develop, program, and commission applications for DCS, including qualification and handover processes.
  • Collaborate with process experts and colleagues on related systems and equipment.
  • Develop and optimize automation methods to meet client needs and share knowledge with team members.
  • Establish automation strategies and architectures to support international departments.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of individual and cultural differences in a team setting.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and flag concerns in a timely manner.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative approach.
  • Reliable, curious, and eager to learn from feedback.

Education

  • Engineering degree in a relevant field.

Tools

  • Experience with DCS systems such as ABB 800xA or ABB SattLine.
