Senior Data Modeler (Barcelona)

Job summary

As a Senior Data Modeler, you will be instrumental in designing and delivering scalable data models that help clients maximize the value of their data. You will engage in critical data initiatives by creating reusable data assets that tackle complex business challenges, supporting enterprise data strategies and modern automated data solutions.

Qualifications

• Over 4 years of experience in data modeling, successfully delivering enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Proficiency in data modeling techniques, including Dimensional and Data Vault.
• Strong understanding of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling in modern data ecosystems.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and metadata management.
• Experience in agile environments utilizing a DevOps toolchain (CI/CD, Git, Automation tools).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in SQL and experience with data pipelines and BI/reporting layers.
• Ability to mentor peers and guide modeling decisions.
• Fluent in English and willing to relocate to Barcelona.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business requirements into robust data models, focusing on Data Vault 2.0.
• Design and implement scalable, auditable data products using Data Vault patterns.
• Ensure consistency and alignment of models with enterprise standards across multiple data domains.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to clarify requirements and define model scope.
• Integrate models with modern data platforms using advanced toolchains (CI/CD, Git).
• Act as a subject matter expert on modeling approaches, mentoring peers on advanced Data Vault use cases.

Skills

• Data Vault 2.0 certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with dbt and Databricks.
• Understanding of CI/CD practices and pull request workflows for data models.

Education

• Relevant educational background in data science, computer science, or a related field.

Tools

• Experience with CI/CD tools, Git, and modern data platforms.
