Senior Data Modeler (Barcelona)

Job summary

The role involves designing and delivering scalable data models that help clients maximize the value of their data. You will contribute to data initiatives by creating reusable data assets that solve complex business challenges, supporting enterprise data strategies and modern automated data solutions.

Qualifications

• Over 4 years of experience in data modeling with a successful track record in enterprise-scale data solutions.
• Proficient in data modeling techniques, including Dimensional and Data Vault.
• Knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling in modern data ecosystems.
• Understanding of data governance principles and metadata management.
• Experience in agile environments with a DevOps toolchain (CI/CD, Git).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
• Fluent in SQL and experienced in integrating models into data pipelines and BI/reporting layers.
• Ability to mentor peers and guide modeling decisions.
• Fluent in English and willing to relocate to Barcelona.

Responsibilities

• Translate complex business needs into robust data models, focusing on Data Vault 2.0.
• Design and implement scalable, auditable data products using Data Vault patterns.
• Ensure consistency and alignment of models with enterprise standards across multiple data domains.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to clarify requirements and define model scope.
• Integrate models with modern data platforms using state-of-the-art toolchains.
• Act as a subject matter expert on modeling approaches and mentor peers.

Skills

• Data Vault 2.0 certification is a plus.
• Experience with dbt and Databricks is advantageous.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and pull request workflows for data models.

Education

• Relevant educational background in data science, computer science, or a related field is preferred.

Tools

• Proficient in modern data platforms and tools, including CI/CD and Git.
