Senior Automation Engineer

Job summary

This position involves working as a Senior Automation Engineer within the Automation Solutions team, focusing on designing and developing automation systems for industrial processes. The role emphasizes collaboration across various business areas and applications, contributing to the standardization of software structures and fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in automation engineering for industrial processes, preferably in the process industry.
• Proficient in PLC programming, particularly with B&R and Siemens platforms.
• Strong coding skills in C, especially for B&R, and familiarity with modern software tools and workflows.
• Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
• A growth mindset with a willingness to learn and implement CI/CD practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
• Bonus: Experience with Model-Based Design (MATLAB/Simulink), industrial cybersecurity, or IoT/cloud integration.
• Relevant degree in Automation, Software, Embedded systems, or equivalent.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop and program control systems for automated industrial processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps and IoT/cloud experts to integrate traditional automation with modern software engineering.
• Promote modern development practices, including Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Mentor and support colleagues from various backgrounds, enhancing team learning and innovation.
• Participate in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for customer issues, both remotely and on-site.
• Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement by exploring new tools and trends.
