Scientific Manager (Quantum, On-site)

Job summary

The role involves advancing quantum technologies and their applications in life sciences through strategic investments and collaborative research. The position is part of a newly established Quantum Unit focused on building the quantum ecosystem in Denmark, the Nordics, and Europe.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in engineering, physics, or relevant natural sciences with over 7 years of postgraduate experience in academia or industry.
• Deep knowledge of quantum science and technologies.
• Experience with interdisciplinary research collaboration in life sciences, planetary sciences, AI, or data science.
• Proven track record in research management, publication, grant proposals, and international collaborations.
• Strong stakeholder and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage new strategic projects within the quantum portfolio.
• Design and oversee open competition programs.
• Map the quantum landscape and build connections between quantum, AI, and life sciences.
• Manage existing quantum initiatives and take responsibility for selected investments.
• Review proposals and contribute to open competition committee work.
• Organize events and foster partnerships across the Nordics and EU.
• Write reports, analyses, and recommendations for leadership.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
• Creative problem-solving and opportunity identification.

Education

• A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required.
