Job summary

An opportunity exists for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Data Centre team in Denmark, focusing on successful project delivery while managing commercial returns and risks.

Qualifications

  • Degree level education and pursuing relevant professional accreditation.
  • Knowledge of JCT contracts.
  • Skills in letter and report writing, negotiation, and contract value reviews (CVRs).
  • Completion of a 2-day safety appreciation course including contract and commercial awareness.
  • CIOB membership or eligibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tenders, analyze and select subcontractors, and negotiate subcontract orders.
  • Manage financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors until final account completion.
  • Maintain site records and document control, including recording site measurements.
  • Assist with forecasts, targets, and contract value reconciliations.
  • Prepare valuations and variations, agreeing on changes as work progresses.
  • Update projected final accounts and submit them timely.
  • Liaise with site management on commercial matters and implement commercial strategies.
  • Participate in contract value reviews and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Engage in cash management activities to ensure good cash flow.
  • Supervise and oversee Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in technology platforms relevant to the role.
  • Commercial awareness and ownership.
  • Time management, organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Education

  • Degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with the Standard Method of Measurement is essential.
