About the role

Job summary

The role involves ensuring compliance with project and client quality standards through effective management of inspections, documentation, and oversight of welding/NDT processes. The engineer will coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to maintain quality activities and uphold certification requirements.

Qualifications

  • Visual welding inspection certification (CSWIP 3.0) as a minimum
  • Essential knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs
  • Experience with EIDA is advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with MSL Quality Management System and client specifications
  • Liaise with project management and engineering teams to influence quality-related activities
  • Adhere to approved ITP/CQP/SOPs and ensure inspections are signed-off
  • Oversee NDT/test requirements and maintain weld histories for piping test packs
  • Verify subcontractor quality items and monitor their quality control processes
  • Maintain records and interpret test results, addressing deviations as necessary
  • Generate and track punch lists, complete piping test packs, and system handover documentation
  • Lead internal quality audits and participate in client quality audits
  • Maintain an audit schedule and implement audit actions

Skills

  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications
  • Proficient in quality management practices and standards

Education

  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience in quality assurance/quality control in mechanical engineering

Tools

  • Familiarity with quality management software and documentation tools
