QA Lead Engineer (Remote)

Job summary

The role involves leading quality assurance efforts to ensure the high quality of software releases. The QA Lead Engineer will have a hands-on approach to both manual and automated testing while guiding the team in quality strategy and processes.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in software testing.
• Minimum 2 years in a leadership role, including mentoring and performance management.
• Strong understanding of various testing types and quality processes.
• Proficient in manual testing for Web, Android, iOS, and APIs.
• Familiarity with web debugging and API testing tools.
• Solid experience with Python and automation testing for mobile and web applications.
• Knowledge of relational databases, preferably MySQL.
• Experience with CI/CD and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Oversee the testing lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Simulate user scenarios and review designs and code for quality assurance.
• Manage team performance and career development.
• Track product issues and provide feedback for improvements.
• Maintain QA documentation and best practices.
• Design and maintain automated tests for Web, Mobile, and APIs.
• Enhance the Continuous Integration pipeline and automation framework.

Skills

• Strong experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium and Playwright.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of performance and stress testing is a plus.

Education

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields is preferred.
