About the role

Job summary

This internship offers a unique opportunity for students passionate about toy invention and play discovery. Interns will work within a multidisciplinary team to explore new play experiences through ideation, concept development, and prototyping.

Qualifications

  • Must be a student for the entire duration of the internship.
  • Expected to graduate after December 31, 2026.
  • Internship must contribute to course credit and be a compulsory part of education.
  • Available from September 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Learn from machining experts in the workshop.
  • Create prototypes based on various briefs.
  • Assemble and finalize prototypes for play testing.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to turn concepts into manufacturable prototypes.

Skills

  • Experience with workshop tools (lathe, drills, etc.).
  • Skills in woodwork, sketching, painting, sculpture, graphic design, LEGO model building, textiles, 3D CAD programs, and videography/editing are beneficial.
  • Curiosity and a maker mindset are essential.

Education

  • Must be currently enrolled in an educational program that requires this internship for credit.

Tools

  • Familiarity with machine workshop tools and 3D CAD software is preferred.
