About the role

Job summary

This position involves managing a project focused on the immunobiology of necrotising enterocolitis (NEC) in premature infants, starting in September or October 2026. The role requires collaboration with hospitals in Copenhagen and Odense, and emphasizes the use of advanced techniques such as flow cytometry and single-cell RNA-sequencing.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree with prior senior research experience, such as a postdoctoral role
  • Proven expertise in multi-parametric flow cytometry and single-cell RNA-sequencing, supported by publications
  • Experience in isolating and culturing immune cells from human and mouse tissues
  • Knowledge of mucosal gut immunology
  • Basic understanding of molecular biology and biochemistry
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience with R for data analysis
  • Familiarity with mouse models and possession of a FELASA B certificate

Responsibilities

  • Organize and coordinate experiments, critically analyze data
  • Coordinate tissue procurement with associated hospitals
  • Present findings in lab and section meetings regularly
  • Conduct frequent meetings with the group leader
  • Teach relevant lab skills to students and trainees
  • Participate in larger experiments beyond the immediate project

Education

  • A PhD in a relevant field is required.
