Project Engineer (Johor Bahru)

Job summary

We are looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join the Technical Engineering department in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This role involves supporting complex project logistics, heavy transport, marine operations, and offshore projects both regionally and globally.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in shipyard engineering, heavy lift, project logistics, or transport engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, including cargo securing and lifting operations.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD; experience with 3D modeling tools is a plus.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer-oriented solutions for logistics projects and bids.
• Analyze project requirements to determine optimal execution strategies.
• Create and implement technical standards to improve operational excellence.
• Perform transport-related calculations and design lifting plans in 2D/3D.
• Prepare transportation and stowage plans, route surveys, and cargo inspection reports.
• Provide technical support during project execution and conduct onsite supervision.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams across regions for successful project delivery.
