Principal Data Scientist (Health & AI, Copenhagen)

Job summary

The role involves leading data science initiatives within the commercial pharma sector, focusing on machine learning and forecasting to enhance decision-making processes. The Principal Data Scientist will engage directly with senior clients, mentor a growing team, and contribute to the development of new offerings in the field.

Qualifications

• Over 8 years of experience in data science, particularly in machine learning and forecasting within commercial, marketing, or pricing contexts.
• Proven experience in leading client-facing engagements or critical internal programs, preferably in consulting or commercial analytics.
• Strong understanding of the pharma or healthcare industry, particularly in areas where commercial measurement is complex.

Responsibilities

• Lead data science workstreams on senior client projects, managing 1-2 concurrent engagements.
• Establish technical standards for machine learning and forecasting across the commercial pharma portfolio.
• Mentor and develop a team of data scientists and engineers, currently 10 members with plans to expand to 30.
• Collaborate with leadership to shape new offerings, including scoping and pricing strategies.
• Represent the organization in external settings, including thought leadership and client discussions.

Skills

• Strong expertise in machine learning and forecasting methodologies.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices and the ability to contribute hands-on when necessary.
• Experience in shaping or launching data/AI offerings is advantageous.
• Proficiency in English; Danish language skills are a plus but not required.

Education

• Relevant degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field is typically expected.

• Familiarity with data science tools and technologies relevant to machine learning and analytics in the pharma sector.
