About the role

Job summary

Two postdoctoral researchers are sought to engage in advanced research on Trustworthy AI Foundation Models and Artificial General Intelligence for power systems. The roles involve leading projects focused on machine learning tools for secure operation and planning of energy grids.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Strong background in at least four of the following areas: power system dynamics, optimization (convex optimization, MILP, non-linear), machine learning techniques, programming tools (Python, Julia, Pytorch), power system software (Powerfactory, PSCAD, EMTP).
  • Proficient in English with strong presentation and scientific writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project activities for the GenAISIS and ODEON research projects.
  • Conduct high-quality research at the intersection of machine learning, control, optimization, and power system dynamics.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.
  • Supervise PhD and MSc students and teach courses as needed.

Skills

  • Expertise in machine learning, optimization, and power systems.
  • Proficient in programming and using relevant software tools.

Education

  • A PhD degree in a relevant discipline is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python and Julia, and software tools like Powerfactory, PSCAD, and EMTP.
