Job summary

This position involves developing immersive systems that recreate realistic sound environments through research in real-time spatial audio and multisensory XR. The role focuses on physics-based and data-driven audio rendering methods within a European project, collaborating with international partners across various fields.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree or equivalent in spatial audio, acoustics, signal processing, XR, HCI, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in programming and prototyping, with an interest in perceptual and empirical user research.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary international research setting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop real-time spatial audio rendering using both physics-based and data-driven techniques.
  • Explore personalized audio, environmental soundscapes, interactive sounds, and auditory augmentation.
  • Integrate and synchronize audio with visual, haptic, and other sensory modalities.
  • Conduct perceptual and user studies, contributing to the multisensory sensory-grounding use case.

Skills

  • Proficiency in spatial audio and acoustics.
  • Experience with signal processing and XR technologies.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

Education

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) is required for this position.

Tools

  • Familiarity with audio rendering software and tools relevant to spatial audio and XR development.
