Job summary

This position focuses on advancing brain-inspired control and soft robotics through the development of innovative control architectures. The role involves collaboration with leading researchers and international partners to conduct fundamental research and validate ideas on physical soft-robotic platforms.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
  • Documented research experience in robotics and control systems, particularly in assistive robotics and human-robot interactions.
  • Strong background in nonlinear, model-based, adaptive, and/or learning-based control.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with robotic software frameworks and simulation environments.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and publish scientific results.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate hierarchical control architectures for soft robotic systems.
  • Implement neuro-inspired computational approaches, including spiking neural networks.
  • Develop and validate algorithms in simulation and on real robotic systems.
  • Integrate control, AI, and reinforcement learning components.
  • Disseminate research findings through high-impact journals and conferences.
  • Collaborate with national and international project partners.
  • Participate in NRT-Lab research activities and support the group’s strategy.
  • Supervise BSc and MSc student projects.

Skills

  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Experience with robotic software frameworks and simulation environments.
  • Ability to conduct independent research and publish scientific results.

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
