Job summary

This position is for a postdoctoral researcher focused on the engineering of proteins that respond to environmental conditions, aiming to control biological functions with precision. The role is part of a project funded by the Villum Foundation, which seeks to develop antibodies and binding proteins with condition-dependent activity for applications in targeted therapeutics and biosensing.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • Strong theoretical and practical experience in deep learning.
  • Hands-on experience in developing generative models.
  • Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and/or JAX.
  • Experience with training large-scale neural networks on HPC or GPU clusters.
  • Strong publication record in relevant AI/ML venues or interdisciplinary journals.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement deep learning architectures for generating binding proteins.
  • Develop and optimize generative models for binding protein design.
  • Collaborate with wet lab scientists to express and test designs.
  • Publish research findings in impactful journals and contribute to grant applications.
  • Manage scientific projects and mentor students.

Skills

  • Experience with protein language models and structure prediction frameworks is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with geometric deep learning or graph neural networks is a plus.
  • Experience with MLOps and scalable AI infrastructure is beneficial.

Education

  • A formal qualification of a PhD degree (or equivalent) is required.

Tools

  • Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, JAX, and experience with HPC or GPU clusters.
