Job summary

A postdoctoral position is available for research focused on developing methods for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) aimed at fast metabolic imaging using hyperpolarized substances. The role is part of a project funded by the Novo Nordic Foundation and involves working with a high-performance uni-axial insert gradient on a clinical 3T Premier whole-body scanner.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree (or equivalent) in MRI method development or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Implement hardware, methods, data infrastructure, and analysis for the project.
  • Utilize experience with insert gradients and mitigate effects of gradient imperfections.
  • Develop fast spectroscopic imaging methods for hyperpolarized substances.
  • Prepare and conduct animal and human experiments.
  • Support project progress through grant writing, administrative tasks, and student supervision.
  • Document and present research activities, including scientific publications.

Skills

  • Experience in sequence development and advanced scanner control.
  • Competence in MRI physics, time-resolved MRI, electromagnetics, and electronics.
  • Proficiency in programming and data handling.

Education

  • A PhD degree in a relevant field is required.

Tools

  • Familiarity with clinical MRI scanners, particularly GE Healthcare systems, is advantageous.
